MARIONA MASSONS

Kulturkaufhaus means cultural shopping mall. A public building which contains three storey of small ateliers around the main three floors high exhibition space. the project puts in contrast two atmospheres, the materialistic one, where the artworks are produced, exhibited an sell, and the intelectual, the knoweldge, which contains a library, on the top.

The light comes from above, from the storey that is between both pieces, where a cafe is placed. The facade also shows this two different volumes. A very big staircase box appears in front of the visitor and relates both parts of the building.
